UroLift Treatment

Urolift Treatment Santa Barbara Urologist David Laub

UroLift offers a new, innovative, minimally invasive approach to treating BPH without drug therapy or surgery. The UroLift System pulls and retains enlarged prostate tissue out of the way with very small implants so it no longer blocks the urethra.

Clinical data has shown that the UroLift treatment is safe and effective in relieving lower urinary tract symptoms due to BPH without compromising sexual function, with the goal of relieving symptoms quickly so you can resume your daily activities.

How UroLift Treatment Works

During a UroLift treatment, Dr. Laub inserts a delivery device into the obstructed urethra to access the enlarged prostate. Through a small needle enclosed in the device, he places tiny, permanent implants that lift the prostate lobes and hold them apart to relieve compression on the urethra and allow urine to flow normally again. Once the device is removed, most symptoms are relieved within days, and others within a few weeks.

The UroLift System treatment can be done in our office under local anesthesia, and patients typically return home the same day without a catheter.
