David J. Laub, M.D.

Dr. David Laub was raised in New Rochelle, New York. He received his bachelor's degree in psychology at UCLA and received his medical degree at New York Medical College. He completed six years of surgical training in urology at Kaiser Permanente Foundation Hospital in Los Angeles, CA. Dr. Laub is certified by the American Board of Urology.

His training enabled him to be involved with the early development of minimally invasive procedures for the treatment of female urinary incontinence and with the first laser treatments for prostate obstruction in men. Dr. Laub is dedicated to providing state-of-the-art urological care of the highest quality. Because of this commitment, patients can be assured that the very latest medically safe procedures are available to them. In the office, he provides the latest technology in prostate ultrasound and fiber optic cystoscopy.

Dr. Laub has been involved in a wide range of clinical research projects. They have included interstitial cystitis, prostate cancer markers, minimally invasive urinary incontinence procedures, and, most recently, testosterone supplementation.

He has been featured on the Cottage Hospital Health Life Series "Treatment of Benign Prostate Diseases," "Prostate Cancer Discussion with Dr. David Laub," and on KEYT Channel 3 news regarding the management of prostate cancer. ABC's 20/20 interviewed him regarding medical second opinions. Dr. Laub welcomes inquiries from professional, community, and school groups regarding speaking engagements. He can address a variety of urological topics.

Dr. Laub has been a member of the Cottage Hospital Cancer Committee since 1994. He is on the board of the American Cancer Society and has headed ACS sponsored prostate cancer forums for patients. He initiated his urology practice in Santa Barbara with Sansum Medical Clinic in 1992. Dr. Laub has been in private practice in Santa Barbara since April 2000.
